Tariffs for health care services will increase in Moldova as of July 1.
Monitorul Oficial (the Official Journal of Moldova) published a decision on the adjustment of tariffs for medical and sanitary services, approved by the government in late February. The document publishes in a new edition the catalog of unified tariffs for paid medical and sanitary services of public medical institutions, as well as for services covered from the mandatoru health insurance (MHI) funds, provided by public and private institutions. The updated catalog includes prices for 4064 services. Let us remind you that, according to the Ministry of Health, most of the tariffs for medical services have not been revised since 2011, when the Catalog of Unified Tariffs was compiled. At the same time, in recent years, high-performance medical equipment has been purchased in medical and sanitary institutions, advanced methods of diagnosis and treatment have been introduced. All this determines the need to include tariffs for new medical services and methods of diagnostics and treatment, as well as to update tariffs for existing services. The agency believes that the income received by medical institutions at higher tariffs will allow them to recover their investments. The proposed tariffs for high-tech medical services contracted by the National Health Insurance Company are estimated at 43 million lei and will be covered from the MHI funds. // 15.05.2024 - InfoMarket.
