
The government has allocated about 21 million lei for the payment of lump-sum compensation to health workers who suffered COVID-19 in 2021-2022.
The government approved a relevant decision at a meeting on Wednesday. In particular, from the government's intervention fund, lump-sum compensations worth 16,000 lei will be granted to 1,311 people, of whom 1,287 are medical workers, the rest are civil servants who contracted the coronavirus while performing their duties in the first six months from the pandemic outbreak (until September 30, 2020). About 63% of the total amount of compensations will be distributed between the institutions subordinated to the Health Ministry (10.1 million lei for 635 employees) and Chisinau municipal services (3.2 million lei for 203 employees).
