
In the first quarter of 2023, the average salary in Moldova increased in nominal terms by 20.1% compared to the same period last year, and, taking into account inflation, decreased by 3.9%.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in enterprises of the real sector of the economy with 4 or more employees and in public institutions, the average salary in January-March 2023 amounted to 11,486.2 lei. At the same time, the average monthly salary in the public sector amounted to 9,783.2 lei (+19.4% compared to the same period in 2022), and in the real sector of the economy - 12,086.7 lei (+20.2%). The highest salaries in I 2022 in January-March 2023 were received by workers in the ICT sector - an average of 29,841.8 lei (+21.9% compared to the same period in 2022), financial and insurance industries - 21 711.9 lei (+25%), enterprises for the production and supply of electricity, gas, water, air conditioning - 16,526.4 lei (+27.2%), specialists in the field of scientific and technical activities - 13,467.8 lei (+17.4%), in the field of public administration and defense, compulsory social insurance - 12,659.7 lei (+16.9%), in the healthcare and social protection system - 12,122 lei (+12.4%). The lowest salaries remain in the field of tourist accommodation and catering - 7,217 lei (+17.7%), in agriculture, forestry and fishing - 7,046.4 lei (+12.6%), in the field of art, recreation and entertainment - 8,583.6 lei (+33.2%), in the field of administrative services and ancillary activities - 9,275.9 lei (+16.2%), in real estate operations - 9,173 lei (+18.1%). In the first quarter of 2023, the average salary of employees in the field of transport and warehouse services amounted to 10,442.6 lei (+37.6%); in the education system - 9,577.7 lei (+22.3%); in construction - 9,780.5 lei (+19.9%); in the field of trade, repair of cars and motorcycles - 10,366.5 lei (+18.9%). In the industrial sector, salaries averaged 10,181.5 lei (+17.9%), including in the processing industry - 9,448.6 lei (+15.3%); at enterprises of water supply, sewerage, waste treatment and processing and restoration work - 9,526.6 lei (+ 22.3%); in the extractive industry - 8,900.1 lei (+18.9%). // 31.05.2023 — InfoMarket
