Consultation with a specialist on the basis of a medical policy can be carried out without a referral from a family physician.
This is a provision that is included in the list of amendments to the Single Program of Compulsory Health Insurance approved by the Cabinet of Ministers. The government believes that this decision will improve the population's access to health services and the efficiency of working hours by streamlining the flow of patients, de-bureaucratization of the health care system and reducing the number of patients' visits to the family physician. At the same time, routine hospitalization in district/city hospitals will also be carried out on the basis of a referral issued by a specialist, and not only on the basis of a referral from the family physician. All these changes will eliminate the need for additional visits to the family doctor. It will also promote early diagnosis and effective treatment. In addition, the list of medical services covered by the compulsory health insurance fund will be expanded. // 29.03.2023 – InfoMarket
