Pensions and the minimum guaranteed monthly income in Moldova will be indexed by 15% from April 1.
The government approved the relevant decision at a meeting on Wednesday. At the same time, the indexation will be applied only to the part of pensions not exceeding the economic wage projected for 2023 (11,700 lei). Under current law, pensions are indexed annually on April 1, and the indexation coefficient is equal to the annual increase in the consumer price index for the year preceding the indexation year. In 2023, in deviation from the established norms, pensions will be indexed in accordance with the growth of own revenues of the state insurance budget - by 15%. In particular, there will be indexed all retirement pensions, pensions for length of service, pensions of civil servants, customs officers, pensions of liquidators of the Chernobyl accident, pensions of military personnel and judges, etc. According to the document, starting from April 1, the size of the minimum old age pension will make 2,620.62 lei, while the size of the minimum disability pension will rise to 1,310.31 lei - for average disability, 1,834.43 lei - for pronounced disability and 1,965.47 lei - for severe disability. At the same time, if the amount of pension calculated according to the law is lower than the minimum pension for the respective category, the difference will be covered from the state budget. At the same time the solidarity supplement is not indexed. In total, the indexation of pensions will require 3.05 billion lei, of which 2.3 billion lei will come from the state social insurance budget. As for the 2023 state social insurance budget, the amount of 2.93 billion lei was provided for indexation of pensions, based on an assumed coefficient of indexation of 14.1%, the missing amount is about 134.7 million lei. The money will be covered from an increase in own revenues of the state social insurance budget in 2023. At the same time, the government approved the indexation of the minimal guaranteed monthly income: from April 1, it will increase from 1363 to 1568 lei per adult family member and from 1418 to 1631 lei per child. Beneficiaries will be 47,500 low-income families that receive monthly social assistance - about 1,381 lei on average, as well as 217,900 families that receive assistance during the cold season - 700 lei for 5 months. For these purposes in the budget for 2023 it is planned 795 million lei and, accordingly, 770 million lei. //22.03.2023 - InfoMarket.
