In 2022, 771 million lei were allocated to cover reimbursed medicines and medical devices.

According to the National Health Insurance Company, reimbursed medicines and medical devices were dispensed to 771,000 patients. Of these, only 770 thousand people received medicines, and 1 thousand people received medical products. In the structure of reimbursed drugs in 2022, the majority (465 thousand people) fell on drugs for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, and the next category was antidiabetic drugs (118 thousand people). Recall that in order to expand access to reimbursable medicines and reduce the financial burden on citizens, the following compensation mechanism has been in effect since November 1, 2021: the average retail price of partially reimbursed drugs, depending on the international name and dose, is covered by 100% from the compulsory medical insurance funds. Currently, the list of reimbursed medicines includes 169 medicines with international names. Recall that this year the National Health Insurance Company signed contracts for the production of reimbursable drugs with 212 pharmacies and their 1300 branches throughout the country. // 16.02.2023 – InfoMarket.
