Two Moldovan universities have established cooperation with the Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (SCET) at the University of California at Berkeley as part of the Future Technologies project.
Professors from the Moldovan State University (MoldSU) and the Technical University of Moldova (TUM) are on a working visit this week to the Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (SCET), where they study the Berkeley Entrepreneurial Method. Moldovan and American professors will join forces to prepare a course on entrepreneurship, start-ups, innovation and product management in universities in Moldova. This will allow students to develop practical entrepreneurial skills, and further contribute to the formation of a workforce with the knowledge and skills to take advantage of the growing digital economy. The SCET intensive course allows to learn the skills of entrepreneurship and innovation and gain experience in creating new enterprises with interdisciplinary teams from around the world. This course uses the award-winning SCET Entrepreneurship Pedagogical Method to enable participants to learn innovative skills through lectures and interactive game-based exercises using the latest in strategy, tactics, culture and psychology with an accompanying entrepreneurial infrastructure. The curriculum is designed to develop entrepreneurial skills based on real life experiences. Members of the delegation from Moldova will subsequently develop their own curricula on entrepreneurship at Moldovan State University and Technical University of Moldova. It is worth noting that last fall, SCET training officers Ken Singer Susan Giesecke visited Moldova to develop curricula together with professors from two universities and in the next few months the partners will continue remote consultations. The University of California Berkeley ranks among the top universities in the world for entrepreneurship and innovation. The Future Technologies in Moldova project, funded by USAID and Sweden, supports the development of a digital, creative and green economy in Moldova. Its budget is $52.8 million, and the implementation period is 5 years (2021-2026). It aims to promote innovations and new technologies in strategic sectors for Moldova (ICT, mechanical engineering, light industry, creative industries and digital media) to increase their competitiveness and integration into the global market. // 12.01.2023 — InfoMarket.
