The government has approved the size and limits of compensation for household consumers' energy costs from November 2022 to March 2023.
According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, the state compensates the expenses of consumers for paying for 180 cubic meters of gas consumed during the month. For gas consumers with very high energy vulnerability (EV), the cost of gas will be 12 lei/m3, for high – 14 lei/m3, for medium – 17 lei/m3, for low – 24 lei/m3, and consumers without energy vulnerability will pay full cost, which currently stands at 27.1 lei/m3. During the five winter months, the government plans to compensate household consumers for gas tariffs totaling 3 billion 620 million lei, or 2/3 of the planned costs for providing compensation during the cold period of this heating season. The maximum limits for heat energy compensation will be 1.3 Gcal per month per consumer. Thus, heat energy consumers with very high EV will pay 1450 lei/Gcal, with high EV 1700 lei/Gcal, medium EV 1950 lei/Gcal, low EV 2500 lei/Gcal. Consumers without energy vulnerability will pay for heat supply services at full cost, which depends on the supplier (for example, Termoelectrica - 2854 lei/Gcal, CET Nord - 3052 lei/Gcal, etc.). The government compensates the electricity tariff for the most vulnerable consumers, but within the limits of consumption of 75 kWh per month. The final cost of 1 kW of electricity will be 3.3 lei per kWh for consumers with very high EV and 3.7 lei for consumers with high EV. At the same time, about 7,000 consumers whose main source of heating is electricity are compensated for the first 1,000 kWh consumed per month. Compensation will be provided to this category of consumers provided that the monthly volume of electricity consumption in the previous heating season was at least 250 kWh, the consumer did not connect to the centralized heating system, or the average monthly consumption was less than 0.3 Gcal. About 5 billion lei will be required to pay compensation in the cold season. You can apply for compensation until November 24 inclusive. To date, about 700 thousand applications have been registered on the compensatii.gov.md platform. //23.11.2022 — InfoMarket.
