This decision was adopted by the National Public Health Emergency Commission while approving the Instruction on measures for organizing the activities of private and public educational institutions of primary, gymnasium, lyceum, vocational and higher education in the 2021-2022 academic year. The new academic year in Moldova will be held with the physical presence of pupils and students, but in strict observance of the approved rules. Based on the epidemiological situation in a particular educational institution, its leadership will be able to approve a special educational regime. There will be no festivities to mark the start of the new school year. The commission recommended vaccinating at least 95% of workers in the education system by the end of September. Until this target is reached, all unvaccinated employees of educational institutions, including non-teaching personnel, will be required to present a negative PCR test result or antigen test for coronavirus every two weeks. Tests are not required if the education system employee has a certificate of full vaccination against coronavirus or a medical certificate of infection in the previous six months (but after 15 days of illness). In addition, the commission approved a number of decisions on the rules for organizing events dedicated to the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Moldova's independence. So, in the parade on the occasion of Independence Day, only persons vaccinated against coronavirus will be able to participate. The commission recommended that the honored guests of the ceremonial events be vaccinated or present a negative PCR test result or a coronavirus test antigen, or a certificate of infection within the last 180 days. The number of spectators at events will be limited, it is necessary to maintain the social distance and wear masks, including in open areas.
