
From August 16, Moldova introduces new entry rules in the context of the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the decision of the National Public Health Emergency Commission, from August 16, entry into Moldova is allowed without restrictions, subject to one of the following conditions. Free crossing of the state border upon entering Moldova is possible upon presentation of a certificate of vaccination against the SARS-CoV-2 virus with a full vaccination schedule. At the same time, from the moment of completion of the full vaccination, at least 14 days must pass. Free access into the territory of Moldova is also granted to persons who present a negative result of a PCR test for coronavirus made no later than 72 hours or a certified negative result of a rapid antigen test for SARS-CoV-2 viral infection made no later than 48 hours before boarding public transport or before entering the country, if persons move by personal transport. In addition, free entry to Moldova is allowed if one have a certificate proving the presence of the coronavirus infection 180 days ago (starting from the 15th day after recovery), or an antibody test that is valid for 90 days. In the absence of one of the above documents, citizens are required to self-isolate for 14 days, however, on the 7th day of quarantine, PCR testing is possible and if there is a negative result, self-isolation can be stopped. These rules do not apply to certain categories of citizens: children under 12 years old; pupils / students under 18 years old who must take exams, go to study at educational institutions / institutions on the territory of Moldova or abroad, or who travel for activities related to the completion / organization / development of studies / participation in international competitions or olympiads with the presentation of confirming documents, as well as their accompanying persons; citizens who move for the purpose of health improvement, as well as persons accompanying them; holders of diplomatic, service, official and special passports, etc., as well as holders of UN Laissez-Passer travel documents, persons crossing Moldova in transit within 24 hours; persons summoned to the courts / law enforcement agencies of Moldova, as well as their legal representatives, which is confirmed by documents in this regard.
