In Moldova, 16.4% of citizens received one dose of vaccine, 13.2% of the population are fully vaccinated.
The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection presented such data at a press conference on Tuesday. The highest proportion of vaccinated in Chisinau (24.2%), Orhei and Dubasari (17.9%), and the lowest vaccination rate remains in Taraclia and Briceni districts, as well as ATU Gagauzia (8.6-11.3%). It is also reported that 12.1% of the population of the Transnistrian region are fully vaccinated. The lowest coronavirus vaccination coverage is among the population aged 18-29. 86% of health workers have been vaccinated, while more than 90% of health workers have been vaccinated in hospitals. It is noted that since the beginning of the immunization campaign, the number of infections among doctors has decreased from 12% to 1% over the past week. So far, Moldova has received 1,348,710 doses of COVID-19 vaccine, of which 973,797 (over 72%) have been used. There are more than 500 vaccination points in the country where Astrazeneca, Pfizer, Sputnik-V, Sinofarm, Sinovac and J&J drugs are available. It is noted that it is officially known about 474 cases of infection after receiving the first dose of the vaccine, which is 0.08% of the total (563.2 thousand). At the same time, 1.5 thousand people reported mild and moderate adverse reactions to vaccines (pain at the injection site, fever, chills, etc.). The Ministry of Health recalled that Moldova has confirmed the presence of a "delta" strain of coronavirus, which has a higher spread rate (1 person infects 7-8 others) and serious complications. The incubation period for the delta strain is 3-4 days compared to 6-7 days for other strains, and the viral load is 1200 times higher. The department emphasizes that after 18 months the pandemic continues and the risks of getting sick, including mutated forms of the virus, remain, and in order to overcome the pandemic, citizens are urged to be actively vaccinated. Specialists of the Ministry of Health believe that in order to achieve collective immunity, it is necessary to vaccinate at least 80% of the population of Moldova and revise the previously set goal of vaccinating 70% of the population.// 27.07.2021 — InfoMarket
