According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in particular, they were visited by 14.8 thousand resident tourists (66.9% of the total) and 7.3 thousand non-resident tourists (33.1%), which is 27.1% and 60.4% less, respectively, than in the same period a year earlier, when these indicators were 20.3 thousand and 18.5 thousand, respectively. At the same time, this year the number of visitors has decreased in all collective structures for the accommodation of tourists. So, in the first quarter of 2021, relative to the same period of 2020, the number of tourists accommodated in hotels and motels decreased by 12.9 thousand (-50.1%) - to 12881 people, in recreation structures (tourist villas, holiday villages, etc.) - by 1.3 thousand (-39.2%) - to 2029 people, in health-improving structures - by 2 thousand (-36.8%) - to 3366 people, in hostels for visitors - by 127 tourists (-16%) - to 667 people, in tourist and agritourist pensions - by 308 tourists (-8.9%) - to 3170 people. Traditionally, the majority of foreign tourists using the services of collective accommodation structures arrived in the first 3 months of this year to Moldova from Romania - 37.6% of the total. Next follow: the United States (11.7%), Ukraine (11.2%), Russia (7.8%), Turkey (5.3%), Italy (3.8%), Germany and Canada (2.4%), Poland (1.5%), France and Great Britain (1.4% each), Belarus (1.3%), Israel (0.9%). The number of overnight stays of tourists in collective accommodation structures in January-March 2021 amounted to 100 thousand, which is 38.7% less than in the same period in 2020. At the same time, the decrease in the number of overnight stays of tourists was due to their decrease in hotels and motels - by 52.8%, in health-improving structures - by 40%, in recreation structures - by 29.5%, in hostels for visitors - by 7.7%. At the same time, the number of overnight stays in tourist and agritourist pensions also increased by 7.7%.
