Retail prices for gasoline and diesel continue to fall in Moldova amid a drop in international oil prices – ANRE
This was reported by the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE), which noted a downward trend in maximum retail prices for regular gasoline and diesel. As the energy regulator notes, the decline is due to a sharp drop in international oil prices amid reports of a possible agreement between the U.S. and Iran to extend the ceasefire and ensure free maritime transit through the Strait of Hormuz. As a result, the price of Brent crude fell below $92 per barrel during the current trading session, marking one of the most significant drops in recent months. A similar downward trend was observed in Platts quotes for petroleum products: gasoline and diesel fuel. As emphasized by NARE, given that Moldova is entirely dependent on petroleum product imports, these events inevitably affect retail prices in the domestic market. For example, compared to the historic peak recorded in April, the price of standard diesel fuel is currently 6.58 lei/liter lower, reflecting the stabilization of the fuel market. Thus, for the period from May 30 to June 2, ANRE has set the following maximum retail prices for standard petroleum products: COR 95 gasoline – 30.67 lei/liter (-24 bani); standard diesel fuel – 28.40 lei/liter (-27 bani). ANRE notes that it continues to monitor the situation and developments on international oil exchanges and assures consumers that the current mechanism is highly transparent, guaranteeing maximum fairness in the formation of prices for petroleum products. // 29.05.2026 — InfoMarket
