Moldova is interested in expanding cooperation with Turkish companies in the fields of natural gas, renewable energy, energy infrastructure modernization, and the adoption of innovative technologies

Energy Minister Dorin Junghietu stated this while speaking at the Istanbul Natural Resources Summit (INRES), held under the theme “Energy and Natural Resources at the Core of a Changing World.” The event brought together ministers, high-level decision-makers, industry leaders, investors, and representatives of international organizations to discuss issues of energy security, infrastructure resilience, and regional cooperation in a volatile geopolitical environment. During the Summit, Dorin Junghietu held a series of bilateral meetings and discussions focused on strengthening energy cooperation between Moldova and regional partners, with an emphasis on diversifying natural gas supply sources, developing energy infrastructure, and attracting investment in renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. During the dialogue with Turkish partners, the head of Moldova’s Ministry of Energy emphasized our country’s interest in expanding cooperation with Turkish companies in the fields of natural gas, renewable energy, the modernization of energy infrastructure, and the implementation of innovative technologies. At the same time, opportunities for cooperation in projects related to energy efficiency, district heating, and energy market development were discussed. “Moldova continues to develop stable and pragmatic energy partnerships based on security, diversification of sources, and investments in modern and ‘green’ technologies, and Turkey is an important partner in strengthening regional cooperation. In this regard, our country is working together with regional partners to utilize alternative supply routes and ensure stable gas flows from non-Russian sources, including through existing infrastructure in the region and LNG terminals in the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas,” Dorin Junghietu stated during the discussions. // 25.05.2026 – InfoMarket.
