Moldova has started accepting applications from tenants' associations for co-financing of energy rehabilitation of apartment buildings
In particular, the National Center for Sustainable Energy has started accepting applications from tenants' associations for co-financing of energy efficiency and renewable energy works under the program of the Residential Energy Efficiency Fund of Moldova (FEERM). Eligible associations (those that already have an energy audit and technical documentation) can benefit from the following advantage: 70% of the cost of the works will be covered by a grant provided by the National Center for Sustainable Energy from the FEERM program funds. The associations’ own contribution will be 30%. The energy rehabilitation of apartment buildings will bring a number of benefits to residents, including lower energy bills due to improved energy efficiency of the building, improved thermal comfort in apartments and quality of life, increased market value of the property and reduced greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere. The Moldovan Residential Energy Efficiency Fund is a national program with a budget of 1.4 billion lei designed to finance energy rehabilitation projects for the housing stock in Moldova. The program supports both high-rise buildings and individual households, aiming to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions in the energy sector.
