
Moldova and Azerbaijan to expand cooperation in energy efficiency and promotion of renewable energy sources
This was stated at the meeting held in Baku by Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov with a Moldovan delegation headed by Moldovan Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea. The Azerbaijani Energy Ministry reports that the sides discussed current and prospective cooperation in the energy sector. The sides discussed steps to expand relations in the fields of energy efficiency, promotion of renewable energy sources and energy regulation. In the course of the meeting, the Azerbaijani Energy Minister provided information on the work carried out in his country in the field of natural gas and renewable energy, in particular on the initiatives undertaken to expand the Southern Gas Corridor and export “green” energy to Europe. The Green Energy Corridor project implemented by Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Hungary was discussed, and the possibilities of future cooperation in this direction were touched upon. Vladimir Bolea spoke about priority areas of cooperation in a number of spheres, including natural gas supplies. The importance of long-term gas supply contracts in terms of energy security and sustainability was emphasized. Detailed information was provided on investment cooperation opportunities in the bioenergy and biogas sectors in Moldova, the existing green energy in the country, the ongoing auctions for renewable energy sources, as well as the availability of opportunities for Azerbaijani companies to participate in projects to be implemented in these fields. // 11.04.2025 - InfoMarket.
