The Commission for Emergency Situations has authorized the transit of gas from the Moldovan border to the Transnistrian region on the basis of a contract signed by Moldovagaz with a European trader, with advance payment
Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced this, noting that the supply of gas to the region on the basis of European assistance from February 1 to 10 has been completed. The first delivery from the European trader may take place on February 13. On February 11-12, it was decided that Moldovagaz may sell 2 million cubic meters of gas to Tiraspoltransgaz and lend another 3 million cubic meters to be returned by March 31. This decision was adopted after the Tiraspol administration refused to fulfill the conditions for receiving European aid of 60 million euros, jeopardizing the region's energy supply. The Moldovan government decided to allow the gas transit to avoid a humanitarian crisis, emphasizing that the gas is not financed by European or Moldovan funds. // 10.02.2025 - InfoMarket.
