Moldova will have 2 new solar parks with installed capacity of 50 MW and 40 MW, respectively
In particular, the Moldovan government is preparing to consider authorizing the installation of a photovoltaic power plant in the commune of Radeni, Straseni district, with an installed capacity of 50 MW and a photovoltaic power plant in the commune of Negureni, Telenesti district, with an installed capacity of 40 MW. The solar energy park in Radeni will be managed by GS BLUE ELECTRIC, while in Negureni it will be managed by Revenco Logistic. The Ministry of Energy notes that Moldova does not possess traditional energy resources such as natural gas, coal and oil, is a net importer of energy and has not yet fully utilized the potential of its renewable energy sources (RES) and is unable to meet the full demand for electricity on the right bank of the Dniester/Nistru River. Wind energy, solar energy and biomass are the most important domestic resources for locally produced energy. The Ministry of Energy stressed that the authorization of the installation of the 2 new solar parks mentioned above will allow the development of new power generation capacities in the country and will ensure predictability for potential investors in the construction of power plants. // 02.01.2025 - InfoMarket.
