The minimum energy compensation paid to citizens of Moldova increased from 300 to 500 lei for all types of energy
At the same time, the maximum amount will increase from 800 to 1000 lei for natural gas, while for heat, electricity and solid fuel it will remain at the level of 800 lei. The government made this decision by approving the adjustment of the indicators for the calculation of energy compensations for the period from December 2024 to March 2025. The Cabinet said that this will allow increasing the energy compensations in the form of cash payments, especially for those who consume natural gas. The changes mitigate the effects of the increase in natural gas tariffs from December 1, 2024 by adjusting the formulas for calculating compensation. According to Labor and Social Protection Minister Alexei Buzu, the average compensation will increase from 524 lei in November to 715 lei in December. “These compensations will ensure citizens a final tariff that will not be higher than last year's,” he said. The amendments also stipulate that the vulnerability test does not apply to households with at least one severely disabled person. The measure will provide extra support during the cold season for all households with disabled people. Compensation for December 2024 through March 2025 will be distributed to recipients between January and April 2025. The decision on the amount of compensation for December will be available for viewing in the personal account from January 10. For December 2024, the implementation of the project envisages the payment of compensations totaling 500 million lei to about 670 thousand beneficiaries. In November, more than 703 thousand households were registered in the information system compensatii.gov.md, while in December more than 33 thousand new applications were registered. //30.12.2024 - InfoMarket.
