Authorities and producers of electricity from renewable sources will cooperate in order to maximize the potential of this sector in the context of a possible energy crisis in Moldova

This was said during a meeting that Prime Minister Dorin Recean held with representatives of the Association of Wind and Photovoltaic Energy Producers. The officials discussed the cooperation between the authorities and the producers in order to maximize the use of the potential in the context of a possible crisis related to the natural gas supply. Prime Minister commended the producers' willingness to invest in renewable energy and said that the government will continue supporting entrepreneurs in this sector. “The government will continue to encourage the development of the renewable energy sector and investment in balancing storage systems. We have provided compensation to citizens and we are looking for solutions to provide compensation to industry as well, to support investment subsidization projects,” Dorin Recean said. The dialog focused on the current context of the state of emergency, established since December 16 for a period of 60 days, and the measures by which renewable energy producers will contribute to meeting electricity needs. One of the topics was the establishment of a clear mechanism for the formation of a purchase price in the domestic market for renewable energy from producers. “It is also important to have predictability in the local market,” Prime Minister said. For their part, the Association members assured that they will continue to actively participate in identifying effective ways to integrate domestic producers into the free market of electricity from renewable sources in the process of rectifying the current situation. The Association of Wind and Photovoltaic Energy Producers of Moldova consists of 32 members with a total installed production capacity of more than 124 MW. // 24.12.2024 - InfoMarket.
