From January 1, 2025, Moldova will allow the export of renewable energy only after covering domestic needs in electricity
State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Constantin Borosan, announced this during a meeting with independent renewable energy producers in Moldova operating on the free market. He held the meeting to consult on how to integrate green energy into the local grid to cover domestic consumption. Currently, free-market producers export electricity produced during certain hours, while during peak consumption hours, state-owned Energocom imports electricity from Romania at higher prices. As a result, it was decided to develop and apply, starting from January 1, 2025, a mechanism allowing Energocom to prioritize the purchase of renewable energy on the market to cover the deficit, but allowing the export of renewable energy in case domestic consumption is fully covered. // 23.12.2024 - InfoMarket.
