The Ministry of Energy called for accelerating the work on modernization of the Chisinau 400/330 kV substation, to which the Vulcanesti-Chisinau high-voltage transmission line will be connected

In particular, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Constantin Borosan, visited this site to inspect the progress of the work and demanded that it be accelerated. Constantin Borosan was accompanied by representatives of Moldelectrica, the Consolidated Group for the Implementation of Energy Projects (UCIPE), as well as construction companies that signed the contract for the modernization of the station - Siemens Energy and Electromontaj. Constantin Borosan emphasized the importance of this project for the country and discussed the progress of the work and the problems associated with the implementation of the project, especially those of a technical nature, such as the purchase of the necessary equipment and the efficiency of internal processes. According to him, the companies involved in the work will intensify the interaction of key actors in the project, and internal coordination procedures will be improved to ensure sustainable progress. "The Ministry of Energy continues to effectively implement the Electric Power System Development Project, thus contributing to the consolidation of the electric power infrastructure of Moldova," said Constantin Borosan. According to UCIPE Director Ruslan Surugiu, the necessary equipment for the modernization of the Chisinau substation has been delivered by about 75%. Therefore, it is expected that all necessary works will be completed faster and the equipment will be installed according to the established deadlines. The modernization of the 400/330 kV Chisinau substation is part of a large-scale project for the development of the energy sector in Moldova. The works, together with the expansion of the Vulcanesti substation, will strengthen the electrical connection with Romania and connect the 400 kV Isaccea-Vulcanesti-Chisinau power line to the energy infrastructure in the central region of the country, including Chisinau, bypassing the Moldovan MGRES, located in the Transnistrian region. The project is financed by the World Bank and implemented by the Consolidated Unit for the Implementation of Energy Projects (UCIPE). As previously reported by InfoMarket, the 330 kV Chisinau substation will be modernized by the Siemens Energy - Electromontaj - Energotech consortium, which won an international tender in which 8 other companies from different countries (Romania, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, India, Kazakhstan and China) participated. The contract with the winner of the tender was signed on January 18, 2022. According to the contract, the Siemens Energy-Electromontaj-Energotech consortium is responsible for the design, supply and installation of the necessary equipment for the modernization of the substation in Chisinau. The contract value is 11 million 883 thousand 842.98 euros, the implementation period is 32 months from the date of entry into force of the contract. // 17.12.2024 — InfoMarket.
