
Imports of energy resources to Moldova in 2023 in monetary terms amounted to $1 billion 963.2 million and decreased by 23.9% compared to 2022.
As the InfoMarket agency was informed by the National Bureau of Statistics, in particular, in January-December 2023, compared to the same period of the previous year, imports of oil and petroleum products in value terms decreased by 15.2% - to $1 billion 304.3 million and natural gas and industrial gas products decreased by 31.6% - to $581.6 million. Supplies of coal, coke and briquettes during the same period decreased by 49.5% - to $20.11 million. Electricity imports amounted to $57.17 million, which is 62.5% less than the figure for 2022. In general, imports of energy resources in 2023 took 1st place in the overall structure of Moldovan imports with an indicator of 22.63% against 28% a year earlier.
