The capacity limit for electricity trade from Moldova and Ukraine to continental Europe has been increased to 550 megawatts (MW).
The European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E) announced this, noting that transmission system operators (TSOs) in continental Europe have agreed to increase the capacity limit for electricity trade from Moldova and Ukraine to continental Europe to 550 MW based on system security and stability modeling, reflecting an increase of 150 MW over the previous limit. This value has been offered to the market since March 1. As ENTSO-E notes, since June 2022, system operators in continental Europe have regularly increased the capacity available for electricity trade with Ukraine and Moldova, taking into account grid stability and security considerations. The European Network of Transmission System Operators is a cooperative association of European transmission system operators (TSOs). The 39 TSO members, representing 35 countries, are responsible for the safe and coordinated operation of the European electricity system, the largest interconnected electricity network in the world. // 04.03.2024 - InfoMarket
