Moldova is waiting for new investors in the energy sector to diversify energy sources and increase energy efficiency.

Energy Minister Victor Parlicov stated this while speaking at the 2nd Economic Forum "Investment, Innovation, European Integration" held in Chisinau, which gathered representatives of about 300 companies from Moldova, Romania, Poland and Italy. The Energy Minister said that Moldova represents a safe place for any investment in the energy sector, and the Energy Ministry is firmly committed to promoting projects and investments in the country's energy sector. "We aim to create a favorable environment for the development and implementation of innovative energy projects that contribute to the diversification of energy sources and increase energy efficiency. Moldova is an attractive destination for investors in the energy sector, and they should be sure that they will have stable and transparent conditions for doing business," Victor Parlicov emphasized. At the same time, he mentioned investment projects in the energy sector, including the interconnection of the Moldovan and Romanian electricity and gas networks, the modernization of the heat supply system, as well as a program of investments in the energy efficiency of buildings, as well as tenders for the production of wind and solar energy at a fixed price. The winners of these auctions will have the opportunity to sell the produced energy at the auction price for a period of 15 years. The Energy Minister also announced the launch of the first Energy Sandboxes or Innovative Technology Test Centers, which will serve as a testbed for energy innovations. This program is aimed at attracting foreign investors to Moldova, supporting local startups and SMEs in their efforts to test new ideas and technologies in a specialized environment. In this context, Victor Parlicov invited interested investors to explore business opportunities in Moldova's energy sector and to join the Energy Ministry's efforts to build a sustainable and prosperous future for our country. // 26.02.2024 - InfoMarket.
