Moldovagaz and Energocom signed a contract for the supply of about 451 million cubic meters of natural gas in January-April 2024 at a price of 550 euros per 1 thousand cubic meters.

The state company Energocom reported this, noting that, in accordance with the order of the Commission for Emergency Situations of December 27, Energocom will continue to ensure the energy security of Moldova. To this end, to cover the needs of consumers on the right bank of the Dniester, Energocom and Moldovagaz entered into a contract for the purchase and sale of natural gas. It provides for the supply of approximately 451 million cubic meters of natural gas from January to April 2024 at a price of 550 euros per 1 thousand cubic meters, which can subsequently be reduced. Energocom has also entered into electricity purchase and sale contracts with universal service providers, emergency suppliers and system operators, which provide for the supply of electricity for January-December 2024. Electricity supplied by the state-owned company Energocom will mainly be purchased from Moldavskaya GRES at a price of $66 per MWh, from local thermal power plants and producers of electricity from renewable sources, electricity producers on the European market, and, if necessary, to cover electricity shortages - on the OPCOM exchange.
