The EBRD to provide a 30.8 million euros loan for the construction of the 400 kV Balti - Suceava transmission line.
In particular, it will be envisaged by a loan agreement between Moldova and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the implementation of the project "Moldova-Romania Power Interconnection, Phase II", the launch of negotiations on which was approved by the Parliamentary Commission for Foreign Policy and European Integration. In particular, the EBRD will provide financial support for the construction, equipment and commissioning of an overhead power transmission line, which will connect Balti and Suceava. In particular, the EBRD will provide a loan of 30.8 million euros for this purpose, which is 40 per cent of the total cost of the project. The rest of the financing will be provided by the European Investment Bank and the European Union. Thus, the EBRD will provide financing for a number of project components: construction of the 400 kV Balti-Suceava transmission line; construction of the Balti 400 kV station; rehabilitation of the internal transmission networks in Moldova; consulting support for project implementation and related supervision and design works. It should be noted that in 2017, the project "Moldova-Romania Power Interconnection, Phase I" was launched, aimed at financing the construction of the 400kV Vulcanesti-Chisinau overhead transmission line and the Back-to-Back station in Vulcanesti district. As InfoMarket reported earlier, the construction of the Balti-Suceava transmission line is planned to be completed by the end of 2027. A tender has already been announced to choose the company that will carry out the design and construction of the 400 kV Balti-Suceava transmission line. //27.12.2023 - InfoMarket.
