Norway will provide Moldova with a EUR 34.03 million grant for gas procurement and storage under the EBRD's Gas Supply Security project.

Norway will provide Moldova with a EUR 34.03 million grant for gas procurement and storage under the EBRD's Gas Supply Security project.

This is stipulated by the respective grant agreement between Moldova and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the implementation of the project "Moldova Gas Security Supply", which was ratified by the Moldovan Parliament. The document was signed in Chisinau on October 13, 2023. According to the Ministry of Energy, the Norwegian government decided to offer through the NANSEN Support Program for Ukraine financial assistance in the form of a grant also to Moldova, including for its energy sector, in order to reduce the socio-economic consequences caused by the war in the neighboring country. The grant for Moldova in 2023 is estimated at around NOK 500 million, of which NOK 400 million (about EUR 34 million) will be allocated through the EBRD, which is the fastest way for Moldova to obtain these resources for the purchase and storage of gas reserves. // 22.12.2023 - InfoMarket.
