
Moldovagaz and Energocom to sign a contract on gas supplies in January-April 2024 at a price of 550 euros per 1 thousand cubic meters by December 29.
This decision was adopted on December 27 by the Commission for Emergency Situations to ensure Moldova's energy security. It is stipulated that the parties will conclude this contract in deviation from the Law on Natural Gas, without the necessary approval of this document by the Board and/or the General Meeting of Shareholders of the companies. The approximate volume of natural gas purchase will amount to 451 million cubic meters. The gas will be supplied in January-April 2024 at a price of 550 euros per 1 thousand cubic meters. Subsequently, the price of gas may be reduced by a decision of Energocom's management. The decision of the Commission for Emergency Situations also stipulates that in order to continue providing electricity to all Moldovans in January-April 2024, Moldovagaz will supply the entire volume of natural gas received from Gazprom in the amount of 689.7 million cubic meters to consumers from the left bank of the Dniester, including Moldavskaya GRES, to produce electricity for consumers from both banks of the Dniester. It is also stipulated that, in derogation of the Law on Electricity and the Power Purchase Procedures, in order to ensure the volumes of electricity needed by end consumers and system operators to cover technological consumption and losses in the power grid, universal service providers, suppliers of last resort, system operators shall sign bilateral power purchase contracts with Energocom by December 29, 2023 for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2024. //27.12.2023 - InfoMarket.
