
Moldova's imports of energy resources in January-July 2023 amounted to $1 billion 210.4 million in monetary terms and decreased by 8% compared to the same period of 2022.
The National Bureau of Statistics reported that, in particular, for 7 months in 2023, compared to the same period of the previous year, imports of oil and oil products in value terms decreased by 2.4% to $791.3 million, and imports natural gas and industrial products from gas - by 18.3% to $380.9 million. Supplies of coal, coke and briquettes for the same period decreased by 18.4% to $11.6 million. Electricity import amounted to $26.43 million, which is 5.1% more than in the same period of 2022. In general, energy imports in January-July 2023 ranked 1st in the total structure of Moldovan imports with an indicator of 24.16% against 25.75% in the same period a year earlier.
