Energocom purchased 280 million cubic meters of gas from 7 different companies from September 4 to October 5, with a weighted average price of $420 per 1,000 cubic meters.

According to the report of this state-owned company, in particular, Energocom purchased about 3 million MWh of natural gas (about 280 million cubic meters) from 7 different companies at 3 different delivery points between September 4 and October 5. The weighted average price was 35.77 EUR/MWh (about $420/1000 m3). To this price will be added the costs of transportation to storage, injection, storage, extraction and transportation to Moldova when these gas volumes are needed. The purchases were made with a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, with full utilization of the 100 million euros diversification tranche (2nd utilization cycle). Under the agreement with the EBRD, 30 rounds of auctions were organized during the past month, and purchases were made when prices on international markets were favorable. As Energocom notes, this volume also includes about 100 million cubic meters purchased in early September from the Greek company DEPA. Thus, in total, the company has managed to secure reserves of more than 500 million cubic meters, and it continues to purchase with the intention of fully covering consumption for the cold season. // 06.10.2023 - InfoMarket
