Premier Energy Distribution is concerned about the massive illegal connections to the electricity grid.
According to the company's press release, over 290 cases of repeated unauthorized connection of consumers, whose installations were disconnected from the distribution network due to debts, have been detected only in the last 3 months. The company noted that unauthorized reconnection of consumers to the network after their disconnection creates high risks of disruptions in the operation of power grids with unpredictable consequences, including fire and electric shock. The company appealed to the competent authorities in order to document, prompt examination and bringing the perpetrators to justice and/or prosecution for unauthorized reconnection to the power grid. Premier Energy Distribution reminded that unauthorized reconnection to the power grid is an offence punishable by a fine of up to 240 conventional units (12,000 lei), and if the seals of the distribution system operator are destroyed, these actions are punishable by a fine of up to 750 conventional units (37,500 lei) or imprisonment for up to 3 years. Premier Energy Distribution warns that only the distribution system operator has the right to reconnect electrical installations after they have been disconnected from the network. In case of unauthorized reconnection by other persons, the company will apply to state authorities in order to bring these persons to administrative and/or criminal liability, in accordance with the legal provisions. //28.08.2023 - InfoMarket.
