
The first batch of equipment and materials for the construction of the power transmission line Vulcanesti-Chisinau arrived in Moldova.
According to the Ministry of Energy, about 20 containers with a cargo of 400 tons will arrive in the coming days, and 7 have already arrived at the warehouse. Recall that the purpose of the project is the construction of a high-voltage overhead power line Vulcanesti-Chisinau, modernization / expansion of 2 power plants, as well as strengthening the system of dispatching and electricity metering. The total cost of the project is 61 million euros and it is funded by the International Development Association - IDA, a member of the World Bank Group. The beneficiary of the project is SE Moldelectrica. As InfoMarket agency reported earlier, a contract for the construction of a high-voltage transmission line Vulcanesti-Chisinau worth 27 million euros was signed with the Indian company KEC International. Its construction is planned to be completed in 2024. This transmission line will be built as part of a project to interconnect the electricity networks of Moldova and Romania with a total cost of over 260 million euros, the purpose of which is to ensure the energy security of the country by connecting Moldova to the internal energy market of the European Union through power lines, as well as strengthening internal electricity transmission networks.
