Premier Energy Distribution is actively involved in the implementation of the process of integration of renewable energy production plants into the Moldovan energy system.

These are installations commissioned both for sales purposes and for net metering. In order to illustrate and detail this process, Premier Energy Distribution published on its website an interactive map with the location of renewable energy production plants connected to the distribution networks and information on the quantities divided by primary energy source and production. The map shows the location of renewable energy power plants connected to Premier Energy Distribution's grid for sale, information on the type of primary energy source (wind, solar, biogas, or hydro), voltage level, and installed capacity. The graph and adjacent table show the capacity installed separately on the different renewable energy sources and the amount of energy generated from January through July 2023. For example, in July 2023, a total of 14.082 GWh was generated from renewable sources, of which 7.64 GWh was solar, 6.38 GWh was wind, and the remaining amount was biogas-based. Meanwhile, the page provides information on the number of domestic and non-domestic electricity generation installations through the net metering mechanism connected to the distribution network in the last 7 months, as well as the volumes of electricity supplied to the grid (the difference between electricity generated and own energy consumed) during this period. Thus, since the beginning of 2023, there has been registered a rapid increase in the number of power plants generating electricity from renewable sources through the net metering mechanism connected to the distribution network. For example, during this period, the number of residential and non-domestic consumers who installed PV power plants for net metering purposes increased from 1,245 and 244 to 2,427 and 540, respectively. At the same time, the installed capacity of the plants installed by them increased from 10576 kW and 13471 kW in December 2022, respectively, to 22196 kW and 34254 kW in July 2023. Currently, the maximum capacity allowed by law is 59.4 MW, and as of August 15, 2023, the actual capacity of the plants connected under net metering mechanism from Premier Energy Distribution's service area is almost exhausted. // 17.08.2023 - InfoMarket.
