
The volume of natural gas consumption in Moldova amounted to 16 million cubic meters in July 2023, which is 39.7% lower than in the same period of 2022.
The press service of Moldovagaz reported this, noting that, at the same time, compared to June 2023, this indicator increased by 1.3 million cubic meters (+8.8%). Household consumers, as of July 31, 2023, have repaid 98% of the invoice amounts, 0.5 percentage points below the figures of the same period last year. In the case of non-domestic consumers (legal entities), the share of payments reached 97.4%, 2.3 percentage points lower than in the same period last year. In the case of the heating sector enterprises, the payment rate amounted to 95.9%, 4 p.p. lower than in June 2022. In accordance with the order of the Commission for Emergency Situations of January 31, 2023, the non-domestic consumers received compensations of 29.8 million lei for the natural gas consumed in January-March 2023. During the reporting period, 499 consumption points, whose owners owed the supplier 2.3 million lei, were disconnected from the network. At the same time, 297 consumers were switched to advance payment due to the earlier suspension of supplies for non-payment of the cost of the consumed natural gas. According to Moldovagaz, the payment level for natural gas consumed in 2023 covered 97% as of July 31, 2023 and amounted to 9 billion 280 million lei. // 09.08.2023 - InfoMarket.
