Energocom continues purchasing natural gas for the next winter and has signed contracts for gas supply with three companies

According to the state-owned company's statement, Energocom received nine offers from six European companies following this week's natural gas procurement auctions. As a result, gas supply contracts were signed with three companies, two of which will supply natural gas to Energocom for the first time. Natural gas tenders are conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation approved by the Energocom Board, which establishes the limit price of gas purchase, terms, delivery corridor and storage point. Victor Binzari, Energocom's Interim Director, said that the natural gas purchase price is close to the current exchange prices. "We buy gas to take advantage of the current favorable market conditions. We're trying to get more companies involved so we can have competitive prices," he said. Energocom continues to hold procurement tenders to ensure Moldovan consumers have enough natural gas for the 2023-2024 heating season. According to the state-owned company, the expansion of Energocom's activity on the European energy market through gas and electricity purchases made in 2022 contributed to the increase of awareness and confidence in Energocom on the part of European traders interested in cooperation with the company, which allowed diversifying the sources of energy supply and gaining experience in the European energy market. // 28.07.2023 - InfoMarket.
