Two more villages - Lipoveni and Topala - will be included in the construction zone of the Vulcanesti-Chisinau transmission line.
The government approved the inclusion of these villages in the project. It is noted that earlier, during the consideration of the draft law, these two villages were excluded from the project due to a technical error. At the same time, preliminary studies, public consultations, town-planning acts have already been carried out for these villages, and conclusions on the project's approval have been created. It is emphasized that the inclusion of these villages in the project is mandatory and of national interest. It should be reminded that the construction zone of the Vulcanesti-Chisinau power transmission line also includes: Cahul, Leova, Ialoveni, Hincesti, Cimislia, Comrat, Taraclia and Bacioi. As previously reported by InfoMarket, the project for the development of the electricity system in Moldova is financed by the World Bank and is aimed at the construction of a high-voltage overhead transmission line Vulcanesti-Chisinau, modernization/expansion of two power plants, as well as strengthening the dispatching and metering system. The contract for the construction of the Vulcanesti-Chisinau transmission line, worth 27 million euros, was signed with the Indian company KEC International. This transmission line will be built within the project of interconnection of the Moldovan and Romanian power grids, worth over 260 million euros, which is aimed at ensuring the country's energy security by connecting Moldova to the EU internal energy market through power transmission lines, as well as at strengthening the internal electricity transportation networks. The project is planned to be implemented by the end of 2024 with the support of EBRD (80 million euros loan), EIB (80 million euros loan), International Development Association under the World Bank Group (61 million euros loan), European Union (39.4 million euros grant). //26.07.2023 - InfoMarket.
