Fuel prices continue to rise in Moldova amid the growth of Platts quotations for oil products on international markets.
The National Energy Regulatory Agency reported this, noting that prices for oil products are rising in the context of the entry into force of the decision announced in June by Saudi Arabia to extend the reduction of oil production by one million barrels per day, at least until August. Saudi Arabia was joined by Russia, which said it would cut supplies by 500,000 barrels in August. Together, these volumes could represent about 1.5% of global supply. Accordingly, international oil exchanges reacted by increasing prices, which generates an increase in Platts quotations for oil products and is reflected in the cost of fuel, as Platts is the most important indicator underlying the Methodology for determining the level of retail fuel prices in force in Moldova. Thus, compared to the indicators for the beginning of July, at the last session, Platts quotations increased by about $40 per ton of gasoline and $54 per ton of diesel fuel. Under these conditions, for tomorrow, July 18, the maximum retail prices for the main standard oil products are set by ANRE at the following level: gasoline COR 95 - 24.65 lei per liter - (plus 5 bani); standard diesel fuel - 20.76 lei per liter (plus 9 bani). ANRE said that it closely follows the developments on the international oil exchanges and assures consumers that the current pricing mechanism is extremely transparent and guarantees maximum fairness both in the periods of increase and decrease of quotations. //17.07.2023 - InfoMarket.
