Gas tariffs for consumers of Moldova may be reduced as early as next week, and the reduction will be significant - Victor Parlicov.
The Minister of Energy said this at a press conference on Wednesday, noting that he would not name specific figures so as not to put pressure on ANRE, and the energy regulator will express its position later and will make an appropriate decision. Victor Parlicov explained that the Emergency Situations Commission decided at Wednesday's meeting that ANRE will be able to approve new natural gas tariffs on an expedited basis, in deviation from the classical procedure. The Minister of Energy noted that, as expected, after the completion of the forecasts for the new average annual price for gas, Energocom will urgently present them to Moldovagaz, which, in turn, will send the necessary materials to ANRE, and the regulator will have 3 days to revise rates without following the usual lengthy procedure. "We expect that the tariffs may be reviewed next week, but I will not say for sure. This is already the work of ANRE here," Victor Parlicov stressed. He said he would not give any figures on a possible tariff reduction. "ANRE should speak out, we expect that there will be a significant reduction in tariffs, but the exact figures will be given by ANRE," Victor Parlicov said. For his part, Prime Minister Dorin Recean also said at a government meeting on Wednesday that there will soon be a reduction in gas tariffs, which will be felt by citizens. Currently, the gas tariff for household consumers in Moldova is 29.27 lei per 1 cubic meter. This tariff has been valid since October 1, 2022. But during the cold period of the year, the government partially compensated the tariff, depending on the vulnerability of consumers. However, from April 1, 2023, these compensations were stopped due to the end of the heating season. // 31.05.2023 – InfoMarket
