Energocom has signed a six-month power supply contract with Moldavskaya GRES and managed to reduce its purchase price from $73 to $66 per MWh.

The state company reports that according to the agreed schedules, every month it is supposed to purchase about 282,000 MWh from Moldavskaya GRES, which accounts for over 90% of the power demand of the right bank of the Nistru/Dniester. The purchase price will make up $66/MWh, which is $7 less than the last four months. In April, Energocom will also buy electricity from the Romanian company SN Nuclearelectrica at a volume of about 17,400 MWh, which corresponds to 5.5% of its needs. The price per MWh under this contract will be 450 Romanian lei (approximately 91 euros) per MWh. If necessary, during peak hours, Energocom can also buy electricity from the Romanian OPCOM exchange. As earlier reported, in 2022, the price of electric power supplied to the right bank of Nistru/Dniester by Moldavskaya GRES was increased several times: from $59.5 to $59.9/MWh, and subsequently to $62.5 and $73/MWh, respectively. The Moldovan authorities said they are negotiating with Moldavskaya GRES to sign a new, longer-term contract for electricity supplies to the right bank of the Nistru River at a lower price. // 31.03.2023 – InfoMarket
