ANRE will analyze when and how to change the electricity tariff, but the electricity price of 90 euros per MWh offered by Romania is the lowest that could be found in the region at the moment - Andrei Spinu.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development said this in an interview with PRO TV, noting that in general the cost of electricity in Romania is 250 euros per MWh, but the Romanian government has limited its price for domestic, household consumers to 90 euros per MWh. "The Romanian government included Moldova in its ruling so that we get a price equal to the tariff for Romanian citizens receiving domestic electricity," said Andrei Spinu. When asked how this price difference would be covered and whether the tariff would change for final consumers in Moldova, he replied that ANRE would change the tariffs depending on the cost of buying electricity. "Accordingly, ANRE will analyze when and how to influence this tariff. But we proceed from the fact that 90 euros per MW in the context of the bombardment of Ukraine and its power supply system is the lowest electricity price we can find in the region at the moment," the Deputy Prime Minister explained. According to him, at the first stage, Moldova receives 100 MWh of electricity from the Romanian company Hidroelectrica, or about 30% of the required volume supplied earlier by Ukraine, which had stopped exporting electricity to Moldova and other countries since October 11. Earlier it was planned that Moldova would buy electricity from three suppliers in October: the Moldovan HPP and Ukrainian companies Energoatom and Ukrhydroenergo. According to Andrei Spinu, 67% of the electricity would be supplied by the Moldovan HPP at a price of $62.5 per MWh, and the remaining 33% would be provided by Ukrainian companies, with which a contract has been signed. Specifically, 30% would be supplied by Ukraine's Energoatom at $77 per MWh and 3% by Ukrhydroenergo at $132 per MWh. The average price of electricity was supposed to be $68.9 MWh. // 18.10.2022- InfoMarket.
