The significant increase in diesel prices in Moldova is dictated by the high level of Platts quotations for this type of fuel - ANRE.
The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) reported this, noting that the average Platts quotations for diesel fuel over the last 14 days, used by ANRE to calculate maximum retail prices, have steadily increased, reaching an average level of $1134 per ton, which is 16% higher than two weeks ago. ANRE noted that in the first half of the current month the international exchanges recorded a high level of fuel quotations, especially diesel, amid the expected embargo on oil imports from Russia and as a result of OPEC+ decision to reduce oil production. As a result, daily quotations of diesel fuel even reached $1220 per ton at the exchange sessions of the current month. For tomorrow, October 18, ANRE has set the maximum retail prices for main the standard petroleum products at the following level: gasoline COR 95 - 25.21 lei per liter (+10 bani); standard diesel - 28.53 lei per liter (+58 bani). ANRE assures Moldovan consumers that, based on the methodology applied, fuel is sold at petrol stations at a fair price, corresponding to the realities of the day when they make the purchase. The level of prices for oil products is influenced only by events on the international market and the possibility for oil companies to interfere in the process of price formation is excluded. // 17.10.2022 - InfoMarket
