Fuel prices in Moldova will continue to rise amid an unprecedented increase in the cost of fuel on international stock exchanges - ANRE.
The National Energy Regulatory Agency reported this, noting that in the last session alone, the price of gasoline rose by $41 per ton, reaching a new record high of almost $1500 per ton. In the case of diesel fuel, the increase was $42 per ton, reaching a new high of $1370 per ton. ANRE notes that the record quotations for oil products confirm the forecasts made earlier this month in an interview with German Spiegel by Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency, who predicted a significant increase in fuel prices during the summer vacation period, when demand for fuel in Europe and the USA will significantly increase. The head of the International Energy Agency cited European sanctions against Russia and stricter export policies in other countries of the world as the reasons. At the same time, Fatih Birol believes that the current energy crisis far outweighs the oil turmoil of the 1970s. ANRE published on Friday, June 10, the new maximum price for main standard-type petroleum products, which will take effect from tomorrow: COR 95 gasoline - 33.55 lei/liter (+0.32 lei); diesel fuel - 30.91 lei/liter (+0.51 lei). The Agency assures consumers of the correctness of the prices paid daily for the purchased fuel and notes that it is strictly monitored to prevent their groundless increase by oil companies. // 10.06.2022 - InfoMarket
