Moldova has cancelled the tender for the selection of a company to audit Moldovagaz’s historical debt to Gazprom and Factoring-Finance and decided to hold a new one.

Such a decision was adopted by the procurement working group within the Public Property Agency. The reason for such a decision is the expiry of the deadline for presenting the results of the audit. The Public Property Agency said that it will update the terms of reference and will announce a new tender in the near future. Earlier Moldovan authorities wanted to choose an audit company that would not only find out the exact amount of Moldovagaz's historical debt for the natural gas supplied to consumers on the right bank of Nistru river but also clarify the factors of this debt. But the tender, in fact, failed due to non-participation of companies after the start of the war in Ukraine, the introduction of the state of emergency and the closure of airspace. The Moldovan authorities earlier asked Gazprom to postpone by May 1 the previously agreed deadline for auditing Moldovagaz's historical debt and signing an agreement to settle the debt. But no official reply has been received to this effect. // 03.06.2022 - InfoMarket.
