
Moldova is discussing long-term partnership with Poland on the supply of natural gas.
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Andrei Spinu, announced this on Facebook while presenting the results of his working visit to Poland, which took place on October 18-19. The Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister in Poland was received by the Secretary of State of the Chancellery of the President of Poland and the Head of the Office of International Politics Jakub Kumoch, Special Representative of the Polish Prime Minister for Moldova Adam Eberhardt, Polish Minister of Energy Piotr Naimski, as well as the leadership of two specialized gas companies. The main topic of discussion was the supply of natural gas and the search for solutions to overcome the energy crisis in Moldova. Spinu said that he told his interlocutors about the situation on the gas market in our country, and also discussed long-term partnership to provide Moldova with natural gas from Poland. “This is a bilateral project, which we treat with the utmost seriousness, because our goal is to make energy sources as diverse as possible and overcome the crisis. Poland is a friendly state and a reliable partner of Moldova in the European Union,” the minister said. At the same time, he said that with the vice-president of the Polish state-owned company PGNiG, Artur Cieślik, he discussed the volume of natural gas that Moldova can receive from Poland, and with the chairman of the board of GAZ-SYSTEM Tomasz Stepien - technical solutions that the countries can implement jointly for the supply of natural gas to Moldova.
