The distribution of the first batch of diesel fuel allocated by Romania to Moldovan farmers as humanitarian aid will begin on May 31.
This was announced by the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Agency of Material Reserves under its jurisdiction, noting that the first batch of diesel fuel that came from Romania passed quality control, confirmed compliance with European Euro 5 standards, and is now ready for distribution among Moldovan farmers affected by a severe drought. The distribution of diesel fuel will take place in three stages, with the first of them starting on May 31 and ending on June 4. During this period, it is planned to distribute 728 tons of diesel fuel among 46 farmers of Anenii Noi, Cantemir, Stefan-Voda, Ceadir-Lunga, Criuleni, Cahul, Vulcanesti, Cimislia, Falesti, Riscani, Hincesti, Ungheni, Floresti, Orhei districts. In total, 6 thousand tons of diesel fuel from Romania will be received by 3,016 agricultural producers. State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Mariana Grama noted that the law obliges to examine all goods received in the form of humanitarian aid. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova examines the quality of diesel fuel according to 11 parameters specified by the Romanian side. The quality of the fuel must correspond to the EURO Diesel 5 type declared by the Romanian side. The fuel is temporarily stored at the oil depot in Ocnita, owned by Tirex-Petrol, since this is the only point with access to the railway and the necessary tank capacity, and no other company has expressed a desire to help with the storage of these petroleum products. Mariana Grama said that a total of 6 thousand tons of diesel fuel will come to Moldova from Romania in five stages, the last of which is scheduled for June 14. The mechanism for distributing fuel among Moldovan farmers is organized in such a way as to exclude any possibility of diluting diesel fuel with other liquids. According to the rules, the recipients themselves must pick up the fuel from the warehouses of the Material Reserves Agency. However, the state met the farmers halfway and allocated money from the state reserve for the delivery of diesel fuel to the points nearest to the recipients. As a result of negotiations between the government and Tirex-Petrol, it was decided that a cargo of over 2,500 kg of diesel fuel will be delivered to the recipient's tank, and in other cases, diesel fuel can be obtained at one of the 27 filling stations where Tirex-Petrol equips mobile distribution points. Recall that on May 17, the first tranche of aid in the amount of 1.2 thousand tons of diesel fuel from the total batch of 6 thousand tons promised by Romania arrived in Moldova. Opposition MPs accused the authorities of delaying the process of distributing humanitarian aid, and also expressed suspicions that they will try to steal part of the fuel and dilute the remaining diesel fuel.// 27.05.2021 — InfoMarket.
