NAER will hold public consultations on May 20 on the development of a new Methodology for the calculation and application of prices for petroleum products
According to the energy regulator, in particular, the National Agency for Energy Regulation, developing a new Methodology for calculating and applying prices for petroleum products, will organize an online public meeting on May 20 at 10:00, at which all interested parties will be able to submit proposals for a new regulatory act. The purpose of the meeting is to listen and discuss all the proposals received so that the draft Methodology contains transparent solutions with a positive effect both for consumers and for all parties involved. NAER reminded that the new methodology should be based on the April 9 amendments to the Law on the Oil Products Market, which establish a new mechanism for setting prices for basic oil products. Those interested in participating in the meeting must register in advance by sending a letter of intent with contact details. As InfoMarket reported earlier, the Moldovan parliament adopted amendments to the Law on Petroleum Products, providing for the establishment of new general rules for the calculation and application of prices for basic petroleum products to ensure the most fair prices for gasoline and diesel fuel, taking into account the existing fluctuations on international and regional exchanges (Platt`s). It is planned that prices will be calculated for 1 liter, separately for each type of product and imported batch. The suggested frequency of recalculation is 14 days. It was agreed that the National Agency for Energy Regulation, within a month from the date of publication of the adopted law, will develop and approve a new Methodology for calculating and applying prices for petroleum products provided for in this law. // 18.05.2021 — InfoMarket
