Moldova intends to cooperate with Finland in the field of energy security and expand exports of agricultural and IT products to this country

This was stated during the Moldovan-Finnish political consultations in Helsinki, which were attended by Moldovan Foreign Ministry State Secretary Carolina Perebinos. The discussions focused on new cooperation opportunities in strategic areas: energy security, resilience in the face of hybrid challenges and fight against disinformation, which are important aspects of Moldova's stability and sustainable development. The sides also expressed interest in promoting Moldovan products on the Finnish market, especially in agriculture and information technologies. The Moldovan Foreign Ministry's State Secretary thanked Finland for its constant support for Moldova's European integration process. During the consultations, Carolina Perebinos expressed gratitude for the consistent support provided by Finland through the Finnish Local Cooperation Fund, highlighting the significant contribution to the development of the Moldovan civil society and the implementation of projects within the Moldova Partnership Platform. At the same time, the importance of the assistance within the TAIEX programs was stressed, which contributes to strengthening the institutional capacities and promoting reforms in Moldova. The representatives of the Finnish Foreign Ministry reiterated their firm support for Moldova's European path, as well as for the initiatives that contribute to Moldova's sustainable development. At the regional level, the discussions focused on the impact of the war in Ukraine and its consequences for Moldova. The sides agreed on the need to intensify cooperation by exchanging the best practices on strengthening security and combating hybrid threats. In the context of Finland's assumption of the OSCE chairmanship early next year, Carolina Perebinos expressed Moldova's openness to a constructive dialogue, stressing confidence in Finland's ability to contribute to stability and dialogue, including in the Transnistrian conflict settlement process. // 12.12.2024 - InfoMarket
