The 8th meeting of the Moldova-EU Association Committee is taking place in Brussels
The event, co-chaired by the Government's State Secretary for European Integration Rodica Crudu and the Head of Unit for Moldova, Ukraine and Eastern Neighbourhood of the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR) Diana Jablońska, is attended by representatives of about 30 national authorities of Moldova, as well as members of the European Commission. The meeting was opened by the Director for Eastern Neighbourhood and Institution Building of DG NEAR Adrienne Kiraly and the Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov. She noted that this year Moldova has made significant progress on its European path and remains firm in its aspiration to join the EU and improve the lives of its citizens. "We will continue, with great determination, on our path to the EU. "We know that the transformations we are carrying out to get closer to EU standards will, first of all, benefit our country and the people of Moldova," said Cristina Gherasimov. Among the most important topics on the committee's agenda, in addition to the Moldova-EU cooperation within the framework of the Association Agreement, are the progress achieved by Moldova on the path to the EU; key reforms and challenges in the country's transformation process; the state of preparation for accession negotiations and the conclusions of the European Commission's enlargement report for 2024; cooperation with the EU in the fields of economy, energy, healthcare, education and agriculture. The meeting of the said committee is held annually and is intended to assess the level of implementation of the Association Agreement, as well as to develop recommendations for further cooperation of our country with European institutions.// 02.12.2024 – InfoMarket.
