The Constitutional Court of Moldova declared unconstitutional the decision of the parliament on changing the nominal composition of the Permanent Bureau of the Parliament of the previous convocation.
This decision was made by the Constitutional Court on Tuesday after considering the request of the former deputies from the Dignity and Truth Platform Party Dinu Plingau and Maria Ciobanu. They appealed to the Constitutional Court against the parliamentary decision taken at a scandalous meeting on December 3, 2020, when the parliamentary majority, consisting of the deputies of the Party of Socialists and the parliamentary group "For Moldova", voted to change the composition of the Parliament's Permanent Bureau: members of the parliamentary groups Pro Moldova and “For Moldova”, and a representative of the Democratic Party was also expelled. The deputies of the DA Platform asked the Constitutional Court to reverse this decision, referring to procedural violations in its adoption. Thus, the draft resolution was not included in the agenda, and the meeting was chaired by Vice Speaker Vlad Batrincea, who had no right to amend the agenda. The meeting itself was held in a tense atmosphere, then the opposition deputies blocked the rostrum, which created additional ambiguity about the approved composition of the Permanent Bureau. // 27.07.2021 — InfoMarket
